Summary:
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School seeks responsible, energetic and nurturing individuals who love children and have experience in a school setting. The position requires the employee to assist the certified classroom teacher or librarian with students in the classroom or library. This position will be responsible to help the teacher or librarian reach their objectives and instructional goals.

Category: Full-time hourly contract basis
Pay Rate: depending on education & experience
Work Year: school days Aug. - May with some additional training days
Specific Days Needed: M, T, W, Th, F (any one or more)
Min./Max. Hours per week: 40
Job Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (additional hours maybe added for meetings, etc)

Education/Experience:
The successful candidate is expected to:

• Be mature, responsible, energetic and nurturing with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Hold a college degree with previous aide experience preferred.
• Receive a criminal background check clearance.
• Be trained and verified in Safe Haven, child abuse awareness. Please go to the Safe Environment tab on the Archdiocese's website, www.archgh.org for more information about and to register for this free 3 hour workshop required by all Archdiocesan employee/volunteers who work with children.
• Be committed to the philosophy of Catholic school and value oriented education.

• Assist with record keeping of students learning and performance.
• Assist certified teacher or librarian in classroom preparation.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials, which may include cutting; copying; or distributing education materials.
• Assist with classroom order and behavioral management to ensure the safety of the classroom.
• Assist students in non-instructional duties, such as recess, lunch, carpool, etc.
