Responsibilities

As a Payroll Manager with Hines, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll, including payments to employees, tax withholding, and other deductions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage all daily payroll operations for the US and Canada, including accurate payroll processing, financial reconciliations, and tax reporting utilizing Workday processes and reports.
  2. Set up and maintain payroll taxing jurisdictions.
  3. Collaborate with HRIS and Benefits departments to ensure accurate setup of new earnings, deductions, taxes, etc.
  4. Develop and lead the payroll team.
  5. Research tax notices and communicate with ADP.
  6. Investigate and resolve payroll variances.
  7. Audit pay and maintenance input information.
  8. File quarter and year-end payroll tax returns timely and accurately.
  9. Maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  2. Ten or more years of payroll experience; at least five years in a managerial role.
  3. Five or more years of multi-state tax experience.
  4. Workday payroll experience.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to perform statistical analysis and synthesize data to develop insights.
  7. Experience developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  8. Ability to handle pressure, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  9. Strong analytical skills to interpret numerical data, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  10. Proficiency in Excel.
  11. Position primarily indoors (100%).
  12. Operate personal computer and other office equipment.
  13. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
