Salary: $18.83 HourlyLocation : Deer Park, TXJob Type: FieldJob Number: 01050Department: Public WorksDivision: Water/Sewer Dept.Opening Date: 11/07/2024GENERAL PURPOSEPerform a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction operation repair maintenance, and replacement of city facilities and systems.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWorks under the immediate supervision of the Divisional Crew LeaderSUPERVISION EXERCISEDNoneESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIESMaintains plant site by operating mowers, weedeaters, edgers, ect.Insures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking before and after using.Assists in maintaining a variety of records relating to inspections and maintenance activity.Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards.Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.Operates a variety of power construction and maintenance equipment used in the water treatment plant.Be able to continue change out a damaged street sign or sign post.Must be able to assist is installing street markers and paint crosswalks.NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES(A)Some knowledge of equivalent, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities.(B)Skills in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment.(C)Ability to perform heavy manual task for extended periods of time; ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instruction.SPECIAL REQUIRENETSTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USEDCompressors, sanders, generators, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrench, detection devices, mobile radio, phone, ditch witch.
