Salary: $15.64 (minimum)
Qualifications:
Computer experience with Inventory Control Software preferred.
Bar code experience preferred.
Forklift experience with certification or ability to earn certification.
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Issue parts and tools to personnel.
Work cooperatively with Maintenance Department Purchasing/Buyer to develop specifications, sources, availability, pricing, shipping and receiving of parts, equipment and supplies needed for the maintenance of the district.
Develop and manage a system to record and track receipt and issuance of parts, supplies and tools.
Open crates and other containers to unpack items received and inspect for defects.
Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing or measuring and comparing size, weight, description and coded numbers with information on invoices or packing slips and purchase orders. Record any discrepancies or damage.
Compile, maintain and file all physical and computer records required, including computerized parts inventory.
Assist in conducting inventory of warehouse stock.
Assist in processing and labeling equipment to be repaired.
Make minor repairs on equipment.
Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
Ability to operate a flatbed truck in city traffic for parts pick-up.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
Assist in keeping warehouse clean and organized.
Perform all other duties assigned.
Report to Warehouse Manager.
Work Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Moderate irregular hours.
Works with frequent interruptions.
The ability to lift heavy items up to 60 pounds.
Continual walking and standing.
Preparation of materials may involve the packing, moving and heavy lifting of equipment and supplies.
Exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odors.
Work around moving objects and vehicles.
Organization - Uses resources effectively and efficiently, arranges information and data in a useful manner, assembles and orchestrates resources to meet departmental deadlines.
Time Management - Budgets, schedules and manages own time to fulfill priorities effectively and efficiently.
Customer Service Orientation - Demonstrates concern for meeting internal and external customers needs in a manner that provides satisfaction for the customer within the resources that can be made available.
Quality - Completes tasks in accordance with quality standards and requirements relevant to the district, industry and specific to the job function, and enforces the same standard of quality within the department.
